this really goes beyond anything i’ve seen in exploiting the 9/11 tragedy and it was done last night at the republican national convention. why does the crowd clap at the end? are they happy we were attacked under bush’s watch? is that why republicans have some twisted notion that they own 9/11? do they think they are the only ones who remember 9/11? if i were in that convention hall last night i may have vomited.luckily olbermann responds accordingly.

ward sentenced

former bay area talk show host bernie ward has been sentenced to 7 years in a minimum security prison for possessing and distributing child pornography. it’s the wrap up to a sad tale but ward got what he deserved. i think if you’re going to do research on child porn, as he claims he was doing, and especially if your a well known media personality, you should get in touch with law enforcement and let them know what your up to ahead of time. otherwise, when they catch you (and they will), you will cool your heels on ice for years as ward is about to do.

the best ever!

michael phelps smashed into history with a record 8 gold medals tonight! this guy is so phenomenal. in a sport where any number of minor things can ruin your chances of victory he had a perfect week in beijing. talent, mental focus, luck and some damn great teammates (especially jason lezak!!!!) all fell together to provide the world memories of greatness. a completely exciting series of events that was a joy to witness.

on break

i won’t be posting much in the foreseeable future. i’m completely burnt out on the web, information and opinion. i spend way too much time online and i’m tired of it. off to read some books, get outside and away from the computer. there’s plenty of stuff to peruse in the archives if your interested.
