did i just see you scratch your head? yeah, i knew it. unless your from san francisco, a member of the green party or a personal friend of gonzalez you probably have no idea who the man is. gonzalez is a very smart, hip, artistic guy. he was president of the board of supervisors here in san francisco and narrowly lost a mayoral election against current mayor gavin newsom, during newsoms first run for the office. along side good deeds he’s done in the community, he’s an artist and musician as well. i like the guy (i voted gonzalez over newsom at the time) and am happy he’ll have sort of a national platform to speak about his ideas. it’s too bad it had to be with nader though. ralph doesn’t excite me much.
the father of modern conservatism, william f buckley has died at age 82. there was little i agreed with that the guy said, but, he was a smart cat, who i often found very funny. he lived in my hometown of stamford, ct. i actually delivered flowers to his house one day and met him. it was nothing special, just one of those i met a famous person type of deals. anyway, read more about the man here.
frank rich has an opinion piece in the times that tears the remaining flesh off the hillary campaign. comparing her campaign operations to the bush iraq operations, rich points out some glaring inaccuracies the clinton campaign rides out day after day about the race. ouch.
give that girl an oscar! oh…they already did. anyway, by now everyone knows she used to be an exotic dancer and it didn’t take long for the shots to show up. click here to see more.
senator christopher dodd has endorsed barack obama for president. meanwhile, obama continues to surge in the polls, chipping away at clintons lead in ohio. if obama can keep his cool tonight during the debate (theres no indication he won’t), all the clinton attacks of late will completely smell of desperation (which they pretty much do) and i think voters will run away from her. if clinton experiences losses in ohio and texas next tuesday, i think we’ll see the end of her campaign shortly thereafter.
promo video for japanese rockers detroit7. if you like them, be on the lookout for them next month as they’ll be touring the united states as part of the “japan nite 2008 tour“. i have not seen them yet, but plan on being there when they come to san francisco. the heavy riff oriented sound should play well live and tomomi nabana has a great voice that i’m betting will sound great live as well.
what a dick. this dimwit stabbed his brother in law in the gut for supporting barack obama over hillary clinton. click here to read the riveting intellectual argument that led to the mayhem.
i suffer from really bad sinus problems and have done so for years. a friend recommended the neti pot. she described the process to me and the whole idea freaked me out. i came home and found this video and it freaked me out even more. however, desperation is going to lead me to try this thing out.
