clinton vs obama

i thought the debate tonight was really good. compared to the republicans, i felt there was a lot of substance, civil discourse, honesty and a clear delineation from the republicans. i had a hard time deciding who “won”. i think the american people actually won and the media lost. there’s no salacious story for the media to drive into the ground, but the people got a well thought out debate from both candidates, and substance to reflect on for tuesday when they hit the ballot boxes. i’ll be voting for obama, but was impressed by clinton and won’t feel bad if she’s the nominee. i think the last question from blitzer is what everyone was thinking; that this looked like an infomercial for the democratic ticket come november. whether obama/clinton or clinton/obama, this really feels like a winning ticket for everyone.

internet failure in asia, middle east and north africa

 

i can’t even fathom the pandemonium that would hit this country if we had a nationwide outage of internet service. the article claims it may have been a ships anchor that caused this mess. an anchor? it’s pretty remarkable how fragile the infrastructure of all the nations really are in the age of high tech.

britney spears the package

the saga continues for the former pop star, britney spears. police descended upon her studio city home in the early morning hours and at 1:08 am reported to commanders that “the package is on the way out.” they then whisked spears to the ucla medical center with a police escort that stretched the length of a football field. it is being speculated that spears may be held in the psychiatric ward for up to two weeks for evaluation and treatment.

this whole thing with her antics, rehab stints and trips to the hospital has gone far beyond the realm of the bizarre. the closest thing that comes to it was the original oj simpson slow speed chase in 1994, but that was one day. the intensity of “the life of spears debacle” has been going on for about a year now. it’ll be quite an achievement if she comes through this life in a fishbowl she’s helped create and, is living in, alive.

der rudy officially toast

it is official. i don’t know what torch the writer is referring to in the article. the torch of failure? the torch of a horribly run campaign? the torch of corruption? we’ll see if john “wayne” mccain is dumb enough to put this guy on the ticket as vice president. i doubt it, but you never know.

edwards out

john edwards is expected to drop his bid for the white house. i like edwards and think he brought a lot of good things to the table. it’s been clear for a while now that it wasn’t going to happen for him though. expect to see him in a clinton or obama cabinet would be my guess.

sean young boozy video

heres a link to video of julian schnabel accepting (or trying to) his award at the DGA awards where you can hear sean young in the background being boozy. i feel bad for everyone involved. i’ve been that boozy sean young many times, and, of course not accepting an award or anything, had people, friends, etc, been boozy with me. i’d hate to have it get so much attention either way. that said, i’m giving it more attention and i don’t feel that bad about it.

i’m sick of steroids, hgh, pcp, uppers, downers, reds, blues, greenies, marijuana, smack, coke, booze and whatever hell else these guys were/are doing. i DON’T care. it’s entertainment with grown men making their own decisions. unless it affects their play, or the image of the organization overtly, i really could care less what they did or are doing. i wish people would grow up.

nbc reporting der rudy dropping out

nothing on the web yet, but watching msnbc as john mccain wins florida and they are reporting that der rudy will drop out tomorrow and fly to california to endorse mccain. chu-hi predicted it! good riddance!
