this is a great song. i’ve mentioned before how huge ‘blankey jet city’ was in japan. i actually saw the singer/guitar player one night in san francisco live. a friend of my wife, yuki, was working at “the plant” a legendary recording studio in sausalito, ca and kenichi asai was recording or mixing some stuff there for one of his solo projects, the sherbets.
he decided to do a live show at the paradise lounge to test the material live and it was basically invite only for people who worked at the plant. well yuki got us in and i had never heard of the guy at that point and was skeptical how good a band from japan named “the sherbets” could sound. i was standing right next to him drinking a beer wondering what this little guy was going to sound like. showtime came for me and about 20-30 other people and dude knocked my socks off. it was one of the best shows i’d ever seen and i understood why my wife and yuki were so excited about the show beforehand. i feel real fortunate to have seen this cat live. enjoy.
i’m just posting this because i love the look on cheney’s face. it’s this or something similar that pops in my mind whenever i hear his name mentioned. however, seems like the heat is on.
man, i used to get many laughs with my friends looking at super greg’s website back in the day. it’s no longer up but someone was smart enough to make sure the vids got on you tube. i love this guy.

madonna is not looking good. if this is what it means to be in shape and healthy, count me out. i’m happy a 60 year old lady can do 400 sit ups but if it was me and i had her fortunes, i’d be fat on good food and wine, waiting for death with a smle on my face. hell, i’m already fat on decent food and cheap wine. as long as she’s happy. i just don’t vibe with that scene.
what a day for baseball. frank thomas of the toronto blue jays hit his 500th career home run today and craig biggio of the houston astros got his 3,000 career hit today as well. no small feat for either guy and pretty much gives both a pass to the hall of fame when the time comes to vote for them. congrats to both of them!
former japanese prime minister kiichi miyazawa has died. though having a long political career that stretched back to the end of world war II, it is this incident, when former president george hw bush vomited on him at a state banquet in tokyo, japan that he is often associated with in america.
